About me
I’m Mark Cheung, a figurative oil painter exploring quiet moments, atmosphere, and human emotion through light and color.
Growing up, I was always drawn to images and stories that felt intimate and cinematic — moments that felt more like memories than scenes. Today, I try to bring that same feeling into my paintings through warm candlelight, cool moonlight, soft edges, and emotionally driven compositions.
My work often focuses on the relationship between people, mood, and environment. Rather than chasing perfection, I’m more interested in creating paintings that feel alive — pieces that carry stillness, warmth, nostalgia, or quiet tension.
As a young artist, I’m sharing not only finished paintings, but also the process of learning, struggling, improving, and finding my own voice through art. A lot of my work is influenced by honest critique, observation, and the belief that growth comes from pushing beyond comfort.
Through YouTube, painting videos, and studio work, I hope to create a space where people can connect not just with the artwork itself, but with the journey behind it.
